What is Broke Off Co.?
A small apparel brand out of Madeira Beach, Florida. Tees, sun hoodies, hats, and stickers about Gulf Coast fishing. Designed by people who fish here. Made for the days the fish wins.
What does "broke off" mean?
It's the moment a fish takes the line and you lose it. Snapped leader, broken hook, frayed knot. The fish wins. We named the company after that moment because it's the most honest part of fishing.
Are these fishing shirts?
They're shirts you can fish in. Some are sun hoodies with UPF 50+. Some are soft cotton tees you'd wear to the bait shop and the bar after. None of them are technical performance gear and we don't pretend they are. They're fishing apparel for the moments around the fishing, not just the casting.
Sizing
How do the sizes run?
True to size on a relaxed unisex cut. If you're between sizes, size up. Detailed measurements are on the size guide.
How are the shirts printed?
Most of our designs are dye-sublimation on poly blends, which means the art is dyed into the fabric and won't crack or peel. A few of the simpler tees use DTF (direct-to-film) for a soft hand on cotton. Hats are embroidered or use a screen-printed patch. We tell you which method on each product page.
How should I wash and care for them?
Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Don't iron the printed area. Don't bleach. Sublimation prints last the life of the shirt if you treat them this way.
Shipping and returns
How long does shipping take?
Most orders ship from Madeira Beach within 2 business days. Standard US shipping is 3 to 5 business days from there. Tracking goes out by email when the label is created.
Do you ship internationally?
Right now we ship to the US and Canada. Other countries are on the list. If you're outside North America and want a shirt, email hello@brokeoffco.com and we'll figure something out.
What's your return policy?
30-day returns on unworn, unwashed items in original packaging. Email hello@brokeoffco.com with your order number and we'll send a return label. Refunds go back to the original payment method within 5 business days of us receiving the return.
Custom and bulk
Do you do custom designs or bulk orders?
Sometimes. If you're a charter captain, a tournament, a tackle shop, or a fishing club and you want a run of shirts with your logo or our art, email hello@brokeoffco.com with what you have in mind. Minimum is usually 24 pieces. We're slow to respond but we respond.
Crew and culture
Do you sponsor tournaments?
Occasionally. If you're running one on the Gulf Coast and want to talk product or prize-table support, email hello@brokeoffco.com. We're a small operation so we say no a lot, but we read everything.
Can I be on your crew?
Crew is the people who fish with us, post their broke-off stories, and wear the shirts on the water. Tag @brokeoffco on Instagram or TikTok with your trip photos and we see them. The crew page has more on how this works.
Location
Where is Madeira Beach?
Madeira Beach is on the Gulf Coast of Florida, just north of St. Pete. John's Pass is the inlet at the south end, the Skyway Bridge is twenty minutes south, and Bean Point on Anna Maria Island is twenty minutes the other way. We fish all of it.
